Here is my programme of workshops presented at regular intervals throughout the year, Sundays between 2.30pm and 5pm.
A Solid Foundation (Chakra I, Muladhara)
This workshop explores some of yoga’s fundamentals with a focus on the placement of the feet. We take the time to root, establishing correct alignment and balance from this starting point. Waking the energy of the first chakra, muladhara, this workshop will give you the foundation you require for a harmonious evolution in the practice postures, breath, meditation, and relaxation. At the same time as being ideal for beginners, this workshop gives an excellent opportunity to revisit the basics.
(Upcoming dates for this workshop – 13 October 2019)
Progression and Growth (Chakras II et III, Swadhisthana and Manipura)
This workshop concentrates on freeing, balancing, and strengthening the hip complex. With the primary goal of regaining and maintaining a healthy range of movement, it also gives access to safe progression in postures that demand increased flexibility and opening in this area. Directly linked, there is also a focus on the stabilisation and strengthening of the core, in the conscious activation of the pelvic floor and deep abdominals. The energies of the 2nd and 3rd chakra thus liberated, passion and creativity will be channelled in a yoga nidra that guides in the development of confidence and motivation in all areas of life.
(Upcoming dates 3 November 2019)
Compassion and Communication – Opening up to the Heart and the Breath (Chakras IV et V, Anahata et Vishudda)
This workshop focuses on the release of tension in the upper part of body, the area of the upper back and shoulders. Freed of any unproductive strain, we will work on re-establishing a healthy balance between flexibility, stability, and strength in this zone. In this workshop there is also an emphasis on breath. We look in detail at how to develop its quality and capacity in line with increased opening and ease in this area. Situated in this zone are Anahata the chakra of love and compassion and Visuddha, the chakra of self-expression and communication. Reinforcing a relationship to these key energies within, a maitri meditation facilitates the possibility of their being more fully and healthily expressed towards the self and all others to whom we may either be closely or distantly linked.
(Upcoming dates 19 January 2019)
Additional Workshop : Theme to be announced (Chakras VI and VII, Ajna and Sahasrara)
